About The Artist
Art has been a part of Shay’s life for as long as he can remember. From a very young age he felt naturally drawn to drawing, often spending hours sketching whatever came to mind. At around seven years old he began drawing constantly, using any paper or surface he could find. What started as a simple childhood interest slowly grew into something much deeper. Over the years, that curiosity turned into a true passion.
As he continued to grow, so did his dedication to improving his craft. By the age of eighteen, Shay had developed his skills enough to be accepted into university to study art. It was a meaningful opportunity, but at that stage in life he was extremely busy and did not have the time or ability to fully pursue that path. Because of that, he had to step away from the opportunity.
Even though that moment passed, his connection to art never disappeared. For many years Shay continued to draw privately, creating pieces for himself without sharing them publicly. Art remained his passion, but for a long time he never had the courage to show it to the world.
After many years, something inside him sparked again. The passion returned naturally and strongly, and he began drawing with a new sense of purpose. Every piece began to carry emotion. Life experiences, both difficult and beautiful, became part of the work. Through drawing he expressed feelings that words could not always capture.
For a long time Shay believed his work was not good enough to share online. Eventually he decided to show a few pieces, and the reaction surprised him. People connected with the emotion in the work and that encouragement gave him the confidence to keep creating and sharing.
Over time his art began appearing in more places. Some pieces found their way into galleries, while others appeared in everyday spaces such as walls and electrical boxes in the city. In many ways this reflects how he began, creating art on small surfaces wherever creativity could exist.
Shay was born in 1975 and continues to follow the same passion that began when he was a child. Today he shares his work so others can experience the emotions behind it. Each piece is created with intention and patience, often kept for years before being released.
Most of Shay’s works are true one-of-one originals. Every painting carries a part of his story, built from emotion, memory, and life experience. For him, art has never been about creating as much as possible. It has always been about creating something real, something meaningful, and something that can live with someone for many years. Most of Shay’s works are true one-of-one originals.
